BadgeCulture, a project to motivate citizen engagement in cultural tourism activities through a gamified certification system
The actual call for funding Acción Estratégica Economía y Sociedad Digital (AEESD), from Ministerio de Indústria, Energía y Turismo of Gobierno de España, resolved to grant BadgeCulture (TSI-100600-2013-217), a project from Compartia and Marinva with the collaboration of GeCon.es.
The main objective of BadgeCulture is to promote citizen engagement in cultural tourism activities through a gamified certification system, based in the assignment of micro-credentials digitally certified by cultural institutions, both public and private.
To do so we propose a technological and functional design that combines innovative solutions (Mozilla Open Badges), emerging technologies (Cloud Computing) and a critical mass of interest (users community), with a business model based in massive micro-sponsorship to generate a new sustainability vector for the tourism & culture sector.
Compartia -as the project leader- is in charge of the overall project coordination, gamification studies and layer development, conceptual and functional design, business plan, software development and pilot testing.
Marinva is in charge of pedagogic studies and design of playful interactions, development of storytelling elements, business plan support and dissemination activities.
Initiatives launched from the call Acción Estratégica Economía y Sociedad Digital (AEESD) are within the framework of the Agenda Digital para España, approved by a ministerial agreement on 15 of february of 2013, and the Acción Estratégica en Economía y Sociedad Digital from the Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2013-2016.
