The main objective of BadgeCulture is to promote citizen engagement in cultural tourism activities through a gamified certification system, based on the assignment of micro-credentials digitally certified by cultural institutions, both public and private.
To do so we propose a technological and functional design that combines innovative solutions (Mozilla Open Badges), emerging technologies (Cloud Computing) and a critical mass of interest (users community), with a business model based on massive micro-sponsorship to generate a new sustainability vector for the tourism & culture sector.
Project BadgeCulture with the participation of COMPARTIA, S.L. and MARINVA SERVEIS I PROJECTES, S.L., with file TSI-100600-2013-217 is been co-funded by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica 2013-2016.
Project BadgeCulture broadens culture public in a special moment when the sector tirelessly seeks to increase audiences: Local and national visitors, foreign tourists and new audiences such as collector and achiever profiles, both scholars and adults. Thanks to Badgeculture they will live new educational ludo experiences in cultural tourism activities and do a better educational use of the kind of installations, also generating digital certifications with real life impact in many facets, labor and academic being especially interesting.
