This project, which will end in 2014, has as an objective the characterization, measuring, integration and sharing of the profile of personal carbon footprint from the everyday activity. Therefore, the project develops an end-user mobile application in which gamification techniques are applied to increase the participation level in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The LivingCO2 project: socio-technological platform for the characterization, measuring, integration and sharing of the profile of personal carbon footprint, with file IPT-2011-0866-440000, is funded by the Economy and Competitiveness Department in the framework of the call for funding for science research and technology along the line of Articulation and Internationalization of the System, within the Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica, 2008-2011.
Defining the profile of personal carbon footprint from the everyday activity, by using a socio-technological platform based on the Internet standards of the future and on the requirements of characterization of emission activities, measuring the emission per activity, integration of this in each person’s individual profile, socialization to share the expertise, and finally finding a model of economic sustainability for the initiative (“Living CO2 for Business”).
Creation of a pilot LivingCO2 environment with automatic download of apps for mobile devices. After this pilot, a model of exploitation of results has been set based on the scheme LivingCO2 for business.
